  • Can Accessories Be Installed In Bottom Channels On Yakima HD Crossbars
  • In regards to Yakima HD Crossbars like part # Y01157, you can secure accessories in both the top and bottom channels. These channels are pretty much a standard size so you can use track mounted accessories from pretty much any brand such as Thule, Rhino-Rack, Rola, Etc. The T-Bolt Kit part # THXADAPT12 would work for custom applications. That said, there isn't an exact size nut that must be used inside the channels.

  • Does the Autowbrake Require Re-Calibration When Power is Removed?
  • Great News! The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller part # 3430001 does not require a reset if it loses power. It is designed to store the settings until the next use of the trailer and will be at the same settings as when you disconnected. It is however very easy to change the settings on the controller if you switch vehicles or trailer loads. Check out the video my buddy Shane did on it to see some more details on the system.

  • Could Charge Circuit of Trailer Breakaway Kit Be Ran from Running Light Circuit instead
  • There doesn't need to be a breaker between the positive and negative wires of the switch of the Curt Breakaway Kit part # C52040. It would be possible to use a running light circuit to run to the charge wire of this kit and there would be a light charge that would occur but the problem is that the running light circuit typically only carries a fraction of the amperage compared to the 12 volt accessory circuit with this being partially due to the much lower gauge wire used for this circuit....

  • Does 10 Gauge Wire Run From Controller Back to 7-Way
  • The blue wire of the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller # TK90160 does get run to output circuit of the 7-way at the rear of vehicle using 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1. It does not route then back to the battery using that same circuit. The black wire of the brake controller does need to run to the positive post of the vehicle battery to power the controller. If your trailer needs a 12 volt accessory circuit like for a battery charge circuit then the 1:00 of the 7-way would need a 10 gauge...

  • Troubleshooting Installation Of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver Item # 75095
  • The Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, Item # 75095, is a confirmed fit for your 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser so that is not the challenge. However, you need to install the sixth bolt because the security and stability of the Draw-Tite hitch and what it carries is dependent on all bolts being in place. I contacted the tech department of the manufacturer and they confirmed that that you must have all bolts in place. They recommended trying a thread tap and are confident this will...

  • Tips for Finding Brake Light Circuit of 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser for Brake Controller Install
  • Since we don't have a way to let you know which of the wires on your brake pedal switch is the cold side we can only really help by offering a universal stoplight switch like the part # RM-751000 or a circuit tester with a hook end for probing wires like the # PTW2993 which makes testing hard to get to circuits much easier.

  • Troubleshooting Blank Screen of Prodigy P3 Brake Controller
  • Sounds like it has an internal problem and needs to be replaced. I wish there was a breaker to reset or fuse to replace but it sounds fried. You might try it again just to make sure the connectors are seating properly but otherwise it would be time for a new P3 part # 90195.

  • Issues Installing Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser
  • The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75095 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser. I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite to see if they have heard of any particular installation issues with this model hitch on your Land Cruiser, and he stated they have not heard of anything on their end. Based on my research, it looks like the weld nut in question on the driver side (closest to the front of the vehicle) does not have a factory bolt in...

  • Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Installation in 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser
  • Your 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser will have a brake controller connection port for the P3 # 90195 under the dash ONLY if it came from the factory with a 7-way trailer connector already installed at the rear bumper. In that case you would use part # 3040-P. The location of this port in the 2005 Land Cruiser is under the dash, on the far left side above the emergency brake pedal. It may be tucked out of the way or could be taped to other wiring. You will want to look for a square connector that...

  • Brake Controller Install Port Location on a Toyota Land Cruiser
  • The connector you sent in a picture of is not the brake controller port. You would want to look for the female style plug that would match the connector in the picture I submitted. We have had customers state that the location of the brake controller port on the Toyota Land Cruiser is under the dash behind the switches for the mirror. You will need to take apart the lower dash panel and then push out the switch panel. There is no need to detach any switch, it all hangs out just fine according...

  • I have included a picture that shows the typical location of the factory connector on Toyota vehicles that use brake controller wiring harness # 3040-P. The factory connector should be located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. • To install the Tow Pro Elite brake controller part # RED44FR in your 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser you will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C59496. • Parts Needed to Install an Electric Brake Controller on Two Vehicles for Towing a Camper Trailer
  • Yes, you can set up both of your vehicles for towing trailers with electric brakes. The only requirement is that you have a 12 volt constant power source for the brake controller you choose, and that you have a brake light signal that has 12 volt power only when the brake pedal is pressed. The Prodigy P2, # 90885 brake controller, would make a great choice for moving from one vehicle to the other, with the addition of a second mounting pocket, # 7686 and a second plug-in harness, # 20127....

I have included a picture that helps depict what I am talking about. Underneath the strip in the accessory slot, towards the end there is a small hole. This hole is where the...
